The Problem with America is....
Tuesday, January 05, 2016 to Friday, January 15, 2016

Malheur is being occupied by a handful of white (Christian?) terrorists with the apparent and enthusiastic support of ISIS no less. The Refuge, however, happens to belong to all the people of the United States. But like a shopworn moral ...continued...

Sunday, August 15, 1954

Tom Trueblood and I were tossing rocks on the roof of the Boxholm School bus barn out behind our house and watching them roll down the corrugated roof. Don’t ask me why this activity was one of the favorite things to do on a summer day…it just was. Perhaps it was because it was too hot to walk do ...continued...

Skunk Surprise
Friday, December 28, 2007
  • The reason i'm posting this recipe is because it appears in a cookbook called Homegrown in the Ozarks: Mountain Meals and Memories which of all things was a finalist for best book of the year in Missouri in 2007 and i told my co-author Mary-Lane when we complied the book we shouldn't put it in because there are so many wonderful recipes from the Ozark Mountain in the 1930's and 1940's when ladies cooked on woodburning cast iron stoves and it just did not fit and it's been the most read and commented on of all 140 recipe listings. A Skunk Recipe That Serves (2) I ...continued...
